Spotty Ball!

I’ve seen several pics from this little slice of time in which the Boys are playing with a ball, Magical Mystery Tour era. George by far seems the most athletic in these pics, leaping up for the ball and scrambling after it. Strictly adorable.

Sooo CUTE CUTE CUTE!!! This is a great pic! Thanks for posting it! Do you have any more from this session? They used this footage for their video for “Blue Jay Way” in “Magical Mystery Tour.” You are so right about how George seems to be the most athletic in these!

Ooooooh I miss him so very much!

I love these football photos! Although none of them are especially masculine in them!! 😉 Though I agree George seems the most athletic.
Have you got the one where he’s like.. leaping in mid-air? I only have this one and that one, so if you have any others I’d love to see them! ❤

I have the one of him leaping, but it is buried in discs and discs of pics. Would you mind posting it here? 🙂

I love the boys in these pictures. And George does look pretty spry in it 😀
The fact that he might have had an athletic streak, makes him even more amazing to me, if possible

I read that the main way he exercised during the Beatle years was swimming..:)

Ahhh! No way! I love seeing the pictures of him and the boys in the pool, and being a swimmer myself, well… 😀

I love the pics where he’s playing ball. He definitely has the best moves, as he looks like he’s trying to gain possession of the ball. Now would love to see some photos of him swimming ;).

George is adorable in that pic. I never knew that the boys played soccer too including that im a soccer player! But i have a Question. Where’s John? Do you think that he’s off the page or that they had another fight and he left? Anyways…. George is soooo cute right there!!

Megg, I don’t think any of them were real football fans, but all boys like a kick around, don’t they?! 😉 They all used to say in press conferences the only sport they did was swimming. As for John, isn’t he playing the violin/chello (sp?) thingie in the background?

On another note… some of that home footage of the boys in 1963, we see silhouttes of two of them playing football, and they are heading it to each other.. they look pretty good!! I’ve never been sure of exactly which two it is… but I’m thinking Ringo and Paul for some reason…

I know that they were proper football fans ie: they were Liverpool fans (and Paul supported Everton as well) but for fear of alienating their UK fans were told not to make their support for specific teams known. I don’t know that they really played much sport though. Ironic because before the Beatles, really the only celebrities than came from Liverpool were comedians and football players!
