Drop the Towel!

On a hotel balcony, waving to fans, George seems to be missing one important item of clothing and has replaced it with a towel.I bet the others brought him out on the balcony just to whip the fans into a frenzy down below:”Drop the towel! Drop the towel!”

I bet John pushed him out there. John is laughing and pointing at George’s hairy legs 😀

LOL!!!! It does look like it, doesn’t it? And “down that way”, George was definitely the hairiest.

I once got into a hysterical discussion with another George fan over whether he had a hairy butt or not..XD

I believe the story goes as so..

This was after the Beatles arrived in Australia (without Ringo) and they all had their nice new capes and suits on that they had made for them in Hong Kong. Of course, if you’ve seen the footage, you remember it was pouring rain outside and the Beatles were driven around the crowd on top of a vehicle and poor George lost his umbrella in the process. He got significantly more drenched than the others and his new clothing was ruined. He didn’t yet have a change of clothes when they were begged to show themselves to the fans, and whisking a towel around his waist he headed to the balcony with the others.

    What a sport!

      Yes! Thank you! 🙂
I concur with this–in the footage you can clearly see poor George’s umbrella get whipped out of his hand by the wind and rain. Now,If I could just find said footage..
