A Tribute to "Savoy Truffle".

Released on the Beatles “White Album” of 1968, “Savoy Truffle”is, to me,one of the most underrated Beatles songs of all time.I love it.If I hear it,it will be stuck in my head for hours.
Gotta love a man who sings about chocolate.
Actually, in the song he is poking fun at his buddy Eric Clapton’s chocolate addiction, and the chorus–“But you’ll have to have them all pulled out after the savoy truffle”— refers to the state of Eric’s teeth.
The lyrics and candy names are derived from a box of Mackintosh Good News chocolates.
All of the candy names used in the song are authentic except cherry cream and coconut fudge.Pineapple treat was changed to pineapple heart, probably to get the rhyme.

Lyrics:

Creme tangerine and Montélimat
A ginger sling with a pineapple heart
A coffee dessert–yes you know it’s good news
But you’ll have to have them all pulled out
After the Savoy truffle.

Cool cherry cream, nice apple tart
I feel your taste all the time we’re apart
Coconut fudge–really blows down those blues
But you’ll have to have them all pulled out
After the Savoy truffle.

You might not feel it now
But when the pain cuts through
You’re gonna know and how
The sweat is going to fill your head
When it becomes too much
You’ll shout aloud

But you’ll have to have them all pulled out
After the Savoy truffle.

You know that what you eat you are,
But what is sweet now, turns so sour–
We all know Obla-Di-Bla-Da
But can you show me, where you are?..

Creme tangerine and Montélimat
A ginger sling with a pineapple heart
A coffee dessert–yes you know its good news
But you’ll have to have them all pulled out
After the Savoy truffle.
Yes, you’ll have to have them all pulled out
After the Savoy truffle.

..and, just for fun, here is a YouTube video somebody made utlizing the song as background music as they explored an amusing Beatles mystery: How the heck George Harrison could eat so much and still stay thin as a rail.
